State-of-the-art machines

On average, our machines are priced at a million euros and go all over the world. They are complex and built to exact microns, making it a fun challenge to get to know them in detail.

Lots of responsibility and freedom

You will be working in a horizontal organization which gives you a lot of responsibility in your job. If the need arises for a new design for (parts of) our machines, you are free to devise and develop it.

Over-average salary

You will receive annual collectively bargained increases and advance up the salary scales. You will also receive a travel allowance, vacation allowance, 25 days of vacation, and 50% of your pension contribution. Equally important: there are opportunities for further development through training or courses.

Part-time is negotiable

We find it essential that your professional and private life are in balance and are therefore flexible. If you would like to work part-time, we are open to discussing various options.

Will you be part of our team that will design mechanical parts of our machines?

Van Dam’s high-quality machines have conquered the market worldwide. We give color to the products of Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Unilever, and Danone. Our exclusive machines consist of approximately 7000 parts, and our customers are located around the world. WHERE YOU WILL BE WORKING

You will be joining the Engineering department of fifteen people. The department is responsible for designing the machines and monitoring how the machine should be built. The department consists of a manufacturing engineering group, an automation engineering group, and a mechanical engineering group that builds the machines and performs R&D. You will be joining the mechanical group, also the largest group, together with other colleagues and two Lead Engineers.

WHAT YOUR JOB ENTAILS

You will be responsible for mechanical engineering and quality management. You design sub-assemblies for the machines according to the general design philosophy and operating specifications, and you establish engineering methods to ensure built-in quality. Thanks to your contribution, everything works as you and the team envisioned. Knowledge of basic pneumatics, both static and dynamic behavior, is key to understanding how the machine works. Understanding the basics of electrical sensors and hydraulics is beneficial in this role but not mandatory.
